2016 Facilities & Administration Space Survey
       

       

In preparation for the proposal and negotiation of the university’s federal facilities & administration (F&A) rate, the Space Management Office conducts a review of campus research space utilization. This review involves an OMB Circular A-21 space survey designed to identify functional space, on a room-by-room basis, per federal guidelines and is very important for establishing the campus federal indirect cost rate. The research space survey and audit process is for base year FY16.
      

 

Web-based online survey tool Minimize

To automate the space audit process, the Space Management Office has migrated space data to a facility management software product, INSITE. It has been specifically designed for the needs of public universities including the Circular A-21 reporting.

INSITE is designed to tie occupant, PI, and grant information into rooms. Training resources are available online for the web-based Facilities & Administration Space Survey and include datasets from Space Management, Research and Sponsored Programs, and Human Resources.
